Craft Night Recap
Last Thursday, Highwood hosted our first-ever craft night! Designed for a good time, the doors opened at 6:30, and fellow crafters were welcome to join us to start, continue, or even finish their crafts from home in the presence of fellow creatives.
With the bar still open, people were able to sip on a latte while getting their creative juices flowing. For those who didn’t bring a craft and were just curious about what the night entailed, Tala provided coloring pages, markers, stickers, and even Tala-themed scrap paper collected from over the years. From crocheting to scrapbooking, puzzling to embroidery, everyone was having a good time and enjoying the fun vibe. The evening was so well-crafted that we had to bring in some extra tables and chairs from outside to accommodate everyone!
After the night of handmade wins, extra craft supplies were donated to the WasteShed, a Chicago-based nonprofit that collects reusable art and school supplies that would otherwise be thrown away.
With such a successful night, we hope to host more craft nights—but creativity doesn’t have to wait for us! Keep crafting!
