Finca Angamaza: Loja, Ecuador
Some coffees come and go, while others earn a permanent place in our memories. Finca Angamaza is one of those coffees.
Now returning for the third year in a row, this Ecuadorian coffee has become a true staff favorite and one of the coffees we look forward to most each season. From the moment we first tasted it, we were captivated by its remarkable sweetness, unique character, and the way its flavors seemed to unfold. Year after year, it has continued to impress us, and somehow, this latest harvest may be the best one yet.
A Coffee We Can't Stop Thinking About
Certain coffees stay with you throughout the day, and Finca Angamaza is one of them. It delivers a rich sweetness balanced by bright citrus and tropical fruit notes that feel both expressive and elegant. Expect flavors reminiscent of juicy clementine, pineapple, and decadent rum cake, all layered together in a cup that is incredibly dynamic and memorable.
What makes this year's lot especially exciting is its depth. The sweetness is more pronounced, the fruit character more vibrant, and the overall experience more refined than ever before. Every sip reveals something new, making it the kind of coffee you'll find yourself returning to again and again.
Behind the Cup
This exceptional coffee comes from producer Angel Capa Carrion and his farm, Finca Angamaza, located in the high elevations of Loja, Ecuador. Through meticulous cultivation and processing, Angel consistently produces coffees that showcase extraordinary clarity, sweetness, and complexity.
High-altitude growing conditions contribute significantly to the coffee's character, allowing the cherries to mature slowly and develop concentrated sugars and nuanced flavors. The result is a coffee that feels bright and sparkling while maintaining a rich, comforting sweetness, a balance that is incredibly difficult to achieve and one of the reasons we admire this coffee so much.
A Limited Return
As excited as we are to welcome Finca Angamaza back, this year's release is especially limited. Due to high demand and a restricted allocation from our importing partners, we were only able to secure a fraction of the volume we would normally purchase. In other words, once it's gone, it's gone.
For those who have enjoyed this coffee in previous years, you'll understand why we're so excited to see it return. And for those experiencing it for the first time, you're in for something truly special. We're honored to bring this beloved coffee back once again and can't wait for you to experience this year's stunning harvest, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
