Newest Coffee Arrivals
We're excited to announce two new coffees to our mid-summer line of coffee. This is particularly exciting because all the coffees we have now we will be serving at our cafe in just a few weeks. We can't wait to make you a hot cup of one of these new single origins!
about our new coffees
guji kercha
Coffees from Guji are a favorite with the Tala Team. At a glance, they tend to be deeply saturdated with sweetness that we love. Let’s get nerdy on why that is! That richness is usually tied to the very high altitude at which they are grown. When coffees are grown at higher elevations it slows down the growing process which allows for more and more carbohydrates and sugars to be tightly packed into each bean. This will translate into more potential of caramelization and breakdown of those molecules which leads to more sweetness, more flavor, and more complexity of flavor in the resulting cup of coffee.
don otto microlot
This coffee truly embodies our tag line “sweet, beautiful coffees” and shows off with unique complexity of flavor. It offers a lot of sugary, exotic tropical fruit flavors up front on the palate with a soft, buttery smooth texture on the finish. We love this coffee for the summer time, and tastes refreshing and drinkable as brewed coffee in the morning or cold brew in the heat of the afternoon. Prepare yourself for the dog days of the season with this fun coffee.
don otto in our blends
The Don Otto Microlot (a Costa Rica coffee) is also taking the place of our Tolima Colombia in our two blends: the Ruca House Blend and the Amoret Espresso Blend. With the change of the seasons and outgoing of crops our blends slowly transform to include different coffees. The flavor changes slightly in our blends as we adjust the different coffees, but we remain within the parameters of our blend designs with slight nuances that new coffee additions brings. This Costa Rica brightens up our Ruca to have a more strawberry flavor but maintaining the rich, sweet chocolate taste our Ruca has become so known for. In the Amoret Espresso Blend the Costa Rica brings a shift in the fruity tones of the blend. In our last addition of Amoret, it was a heavy chocolate taste with an orange peel and red wine flavor. Now that fruitiness is like a rich blueberry syrup with darker chocolate tone and heavy cream.
