The Pink Bourbon Varietal

Pink Bourbon is one of the most captivating varieties in specialty coffee today. A natural mutation of Red and Yellow Bourbon, this cultivar expresses itself in a cup profile that is simultaneously bright, juicy, and floral, with layered fruit notes that can feel almost tropical. Its distinctive pink-hued cherries make it stand out visually, but it’s the extraordinary complexity and sweetness that make it so highly sought after. Pink Bourbon is also notoriously finicky to grow, requiring great care and precise processing qualities that La Muralla’s producers bring in spades.

Young Producers with Big Vision

La Muralla is more than just a farm—it’s an informal group of young producers in San Agustín, one of Huila’s southernmost municipalities. Most of these producers are in their mid-to-late 20s, bringing youthful energy, fresh perspective, and a fearless drive for quality. Their passion translates directly into the cup, with coffees that regularly soar above specialty thresholds. In fact, scoring below 84 points is almost unheard of for this group—their average cup quality is simply that high.

This is our first coffee sourced through Osito, a dedicated importing partner whose loyalty, vision, and knack for uncovering extraordinary lots shine through in every silky-sweet sip. Osito’s roots in San Agustín run deep—they were working in the region long before they officially became a company, and many of the producers from those early days remain central to their work today. As with all Osito partnerships, there’s a firm commitment: everything scoring 84 points and higher gets purchased, ensuring stability for producers and consistency for roasters like us.
