It happens at least once a week. Someone points to our menu, eyebrows raised. “What’s a Gibraltar?” they ask, half-whispering like they’re worried it’s a secret club they weren’t invited to. So, let’s start with this: the elusive Gibraltar is just another name for a Cortado at Tala. Same drink, different backstory.
Brewing Tala Outside
I love cowboy coffee. There’s something rugged and romantic about scooping the grounds into boiling water, swirling it around, drinking it straight and a little gritty. I remember seeing my dad making it when I was a kid and I thought it was the coolest thing. A case for the Aeropress!
I brought the AeroPress camping with me and everything changed. After seeing how the AeroPress preformed in the outdoors with bladders of water and minimal equipment, I am never going back. All of the things I mentioned above came into play again but even more so. I didn’t have to worry about breaking it as we tried to fit our cooking gear, cloths, tent and sleeping set up snugly into our packs.
