Our Second-Ever Latte Art ThrowDown
We hosted our second-ever latte art competition at our Highwood café, and it was an absolutely awesome night. On February 28th, folks from all over Chicagoland, and even some out-of-staters, joined the Tala crew in throwing down behind the bar. Contenders showed up, showed out, and showed us their best pours. It was a night in celebration of silky steamed milk and perfectly poured tulips.
We saw some familiar faces from our first showdown at Libertyville, and we also welcomed many new bystanders and competitors. It’s always fun to have non-industry and general coffee enthusiasts as participants. Pouring latte art in general can be tricky, and admittedly, under pressure, can be downright impossible. Major kudos to all of the latte artists who made something happen on that “stage”. And while we’re shouting out, per usual, our events coordinator, Mike, and co-owner, Keith, put together an awesome event with incredible prizes and great energy — because if there’s one thing we do best at Tala, it’s put on a great event (and of course, great coffee 😉).
With a different set of judges and a new environment, the competition was fierce and exciting. That being said, we now have a TWO time champion that will likely be coming back to defend his title at Winnetka… will you be the one to break the streak??
Hope to see you all at the next one!
