Cupping a new coffee

Here’s a sneak peak at last’s weeks cupping event. Cupping is what we call the process that is used to taste coffee. Think wine tasting, but for coffee.

We walked all of the participants through the process of cupping step-by-step. They each got to taste every sample and try their hand at each part of the process. On the table we had coffees from all over the world so there was a very wide variety of flavors.

By the end many participants were surprised by how much they actually could taste, and how different they all seemed. Even the least experienced coffee drinkers could pick out their favorites and talk about them.
